Bob Swab, President of Kernersville Little League, called
the meeting to order at 7:08 PM. There were twenty - two regular
members in attendance.
The Treasurer’s report was given by Doug Massey,
presently the league has $58,601.00 in the bank account; of this
amount $14,621.00 is designated for the parking lot fund. There
was recently a $1,000.00 donation by Parks Chevrolet.
Chuck Haslebacher made a motion to approve the following
trades:
Nathan Uzenski from Vestal to Civitan in exchange for
Robert Norman.
C.J. Idol from American Valve to Vestal in exchange for
Andrew Faulkner.
Tyler Ziglar from Sara Lee to TRS in exchange for Stephen
Warta.
The motion was seconded by Gary Cobbler; motion approved,
with Gary Idol abstaining and one opposed vote.
Missy Wilson made a motion to approve the following trade:
Adriene Elliott from Consider it Done to Varco - Pruden in
exchange for Brittany Walker.
The motion was seconded by Pat McNamara; motion approved.
Gary Idol replaced a player on Lines Unlimited with Dustin
Huffman. There was also a request by Brent Wilson to be moved
from Captain Tom’s to J&R Construction.
Pat McNamara of the Equipment Committee has a form for
coaches to sign and will be collecting a $50.00 check; which will be
returned when the equipment is turned in. He also reviewed the
trophy selection the managers will be able to select from for their
teams. Trophy orders need to be placed by mid - May.
Sondra Southard reported that the Pepsi contract was
renewed for a five year contract and they will also be furnishing a
refrigeration unit for the concession stand. There was also a
$4,000.00 signing fee given to the league.
Bob reported on the following items:
A Sahabi committee will be formed to decide the best use of
the Sahabi fields the league owns. Possibilities include
donating the land to the Town of Kernersville with the league having
exclusive use March thru July, or selling the land. The league
will not be maintaining Sahabi this year.
Dan Adams at the YMCA has requested a $300.00 donation in
exchange for the league using their fields to practice on from March
11th through May 17th. The league will also have the Civitan
Park field to use as soon as maintenance on it is complete.
Scrimmage games will be held with Southwest Little League
on Saturday, March 23. The Kernersville Super Scrimmage will be
April 6th.
The sponsor signs are priced at $350.00 the first year and
$150.00 the second year.
The Team Mom meeting will be held on March 19 at 7:00 PM.
Missy Wilson made a motion to name Mike Robins and Donnie
Gooch as coaches for Intex in the major softball division. The
motion was seconded by Cindy Clark; motion approved.
Missy Wilson also made a motion to name the following
managers and coaches in the minor softball division:

Gary Idol abstained.
Mike Robins gave an overview of the photographers the
fund raising committee is considering for team pictures this year.
Pat McNamara made a motion to let the team mom’s have the authority
to choose the photographer this season. The motion was seconded
by Bill Adams; motion carried.
