The meeting was called to order at 7:40 PM by Sonny Berry, President of Kernersville Little League. There were nine regular members in attendance.

The minutes of the November 1st meeting were read and approved.

The Treasurer’s report was given by Sonny Berry. There was an $18,000.00 drop in revenue from last year.

A motion was made by Pat McNamara to raise the fee schedule which was adopted last month to:

$55 for the first child, $40 for the second child, and $25 for the third child. The motion was seconded by Tom Twiddy, motion carried.

A report was given by Rick Cremen of the By-law Committee. Proposed changes to the By-laws will be voted on at the next meeting.

A Playing Equipment Committee was formed and the members are Rick Cremen, Tom Twiddy, and Tommy Wilson.

The umpire chairman for the 2000 season is Tom Twiddy.

Pat McNamara brought the finished videos for the Pride Campaign and asked for volunteers to be captains in the fund raising drive. The following people are captains and will be distributing the videos to local businesses: Monica Murphy, Chuck Haslebacher, Rick Cremen, Sam Bradley, Cliff Querry, Mike Abernathy, and Sonny Berry.

The Spring 2000 season will be the 40th anniversary season for Kernersville Little League. Sonny suggested the board begin thinking about promotional items and ideas for a celebration.

Sam Bradley sent out thirty-seven surveys regarding 15 year old players returning to play in the Senior League division next season. Of the seven surveys returned, only two players have indicated they will return.

A motion was made by Rick Cremen to leave our Senior League program as it is now and not split it into a Junior-Senior division. The motion was seconded by Pat McNamara; motion carried. The motion and vote was duplicated for the girls softball program.

Rick Cremen made a motion to overturn last years’ rule on mandatory umpiring of ten ball games for new managers and coaches in the Major League and above divisions; and to also compensate the managers and coaches $150.00 towards their children’s sign ups this spring. The motion was seconded by Monica Murphy; motion carried.

Tom Twiddy has been working with Mike Blackburn concerning team pictures in the spring. The league will have a raffle ticket sale this year and Tom is working with Scott Bankhead at the NC Baseball Academy concerning team incentives.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 PM.
