Bob Swab stated that all sponsor letters were sent out before Christmas.
The 2004 budget was presented by Brad Rodgers. All sponsor and signup fees were approved as proposed. After discussion and changes were made, a motion was made to accept the budget as revised by Jonathan Head. Don Morton seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously.
Steve Fischvogt discussed the proposed changes to the local rules that will be presented by the local rules committee at the next meeting. The big change will be in the structure of the coach pitch and minor division
classifications which will be as follows:
A: 6 years old with 1 year T-Ball experience.
7 years old if not drafted into AA.
Standings will not be kept and umpires will not be used.
AA: 7 & 8 year olds.
Standings will be kept and umpires will be used.
There will be 9 players in the field instead of 10.
AAA: This will be the regular minor league for 8-12 year olds.
A change to the current voting requirements for all-stars was discussed. Several people felt that having to vote for the top 9 players was hard in view of the fact that there may not be 9 qualified candidates for the team. The change that was proposed was that instead of having to vote for 9, the players and coaches be allowed to vote for a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8. It was proposed to select to the teams 8 players by vote instead of 9 to give the coaches more leeway in choosing players to fill selected
positions. Gary Cobbler made a motion to accept the changes, with a second by Don Morton. The motion passed with one opposed.
Bob Swab announced that Middle School signups for baseball and softball will be held February 7, 2004. Gary Idol will try to acquire Southeast Middle School for this so parents will not have to travel to West Forsyth.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Gary Idol, Secretary
